Manuzio

Manuzio er et nytt uavhengig plateselskap basert i Oslo. Manuzio skal være et plateselskap der kunst og musikk møtes. Hvert prosjekt vil innebære et møte mellom en kunstner og en musiker, og hver utgivelse vil få en unik visuell utførelse og vil bli lansert i sammenheng med en kunstutstilling.

Manuzio er ikke et plateselskap som er ute etter én type musikk. I stedet lar vi artistene utvikle profilen vår i flere retninger. Også kunstnerne vi samarbeider med vil være svært forskjellige. Vår oppgave er å finne bra artister og kunstnere uavhengig av sjanger og å hjelpe dem videre, og å etablere fruktbare og interessante samarbeidsprosjekter.

Personal and universal at the same time, Leifson ‘s new single "What to keep and what to throw" is about a relationship that did not work, and about the feeling of having opened up to another human being for nothing. The song begins with a single voice and a piano, and grows into a beautifully textured epic ballad of lost love. "What to keep and what to throw" is the
second single from Leifson's upcoming album "Fountain of St. Katarina".

“A winter morning” is the first single from Leifson’s upcoming solo album "Fountain of St. Katarina" and the first release from the new label Manuzio. The song is a dark and aery short story of rootlessness and loneliness. The main character is in a rented room in a new town, without money and looking for work, mourning over lost love. Leifson's melancholic and vulnerable voice is surrounded by a sparse arrangement with a vibrating el-piano, harmony vocals, and a saxophone.

Leifson (Leifson Henele Persbraaten) was born in Auckland, New Zealand with a Polynesian mother and a Norwegian father. He grew up in Rykkinn outside of Oslo. In the 1990s Leifson was vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter in the bands Black Press and Bob Hurts, and in the 2000s he became part of Restore to Past, where he wrote most of the music and all lyrics. Among others, he has collaborated with musician and writer Bård Torgersen.
